As the Deputy Mayor of Slough, Councillor Chandra Muvvala brings together three decades of professional experience in technology, public service and a deep personal passion for education and community development.
Around 30 years ago, Chandra completed his Master’s degree at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), India , an experience that laid the foundation for a long and successful career in technology. Over the past three decades, he has worked in the IT industry, building extensive
experience in delivering complex technology programmes and working with diverse teams and organisations. Today, he serves as an IT Senior Delivery Lead, continuing to bring together technology, leadership, problem-solving and people management to deliver meaningful results.
Alongside his professional career, Chandra has developed a strong commitment to public service. As a Councillor for Slough and now as Deputy Mayor, he is passionate about representing residents, listening to their concerns and working to improve the local community. He believes politics should be about service, responsibility and making a positive difference in people’s lives.
Chandra wants to see more people, particularly young people and professionals, becoming involved in politics and public life. He believes communities benefit when people from different professional, cultural and social backgrounds step forward, bring their experience and contribute to decision-making. He encourages others to consider public service as a way of giving back and helping shape a better future.
